A huge THANK YOU to the Wood County Criminal District Attorney, Angela Albers, who launched a spectacular first annual First Responders Softball Tournament that was held Saturday, October 24th, benefitting the East Texas Crisis Center in Wood County. The event exceeded the goal of $2,500 raising $7,810. Nine teams of over 80 players from local law enforcement agencies, fire departments, emergency medical systems and hospital staff competed for the grand trophy. First Place went to the Mineola Fire Department, “Off in the Woods”, and Second Place went to the Fire Department team consisting of players from Quitman, Holly Lake and Coke Fire Departments.
