Since its founding in 1965, the Texas Bar Foundation has awarded more than $28 million in grants to law-related programs. Supported by members of the State Bar of Texas, it is the largest charitably funded bar foundation in the country.
The East Texas Crisis Center, which provides safety, shelter, counseling and advocacy to survivors, has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Texas Bar Foundation. The grant will suppor the East Texas Crisis Center’s Coordinated Community Response, which will enhance collaborative efforts to prioritze survivor safety, hold offenders accountable, and prevent intimate partner violence homicide.
“We are extremely grateful for the Texas Bar Foundations commitment to our Coordinated Community Response efforts which will allow us an opportunity to work alongside system partners to create a safer community for survivors,” said Jeremy Flowers, Director of Coordinated Community Response. “Without the support from the Texas Bar Foundation, we would not be able to create this essential foundation to save lives.”

The Coordinated Community Response grant includes supporting the function of the Domestic Violence High Risk Team (DVHRT), community-wide training & education, and establishing a survivor centered approach to domestic violence in East Texas.
