Position: Family Violence Counselor

Job Description:

  • Provide therapeutic counseling to victims of family violence.
    Provide individual, family and group therapy.
  • Provide parenting and interventions with parent and child/children as requested.
  • Provide crisis intervention services for walk-in clients as needed.
  • Provide crisis intervention when assistance is requested by the ETCC Children’s Prevention & Education Program.
  • Provide timely follow-up and information/referral services.
    Maintain daily progress notes and required documentation for each client.
  • Enter documentation of services daily through the Osnium database.
  • Assist with weekly H.E.A.R.T. and parenting group upon request.
    Required on-call rotation for hospital emergency room as scheduled.
  • Present family violence counseling services for volunteer training as scheduled.
  • Assist with public education as requested.
  • Attend or complete professional webinar trainings as required.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Counseling/Psychology.
  • LPC License is preferred.
  • Recent graduates may be considered with the understanding that they make application for the LPC Associates.
  • Will hold or work toward Play & Art Therapy Certifications.
  • Knowledge of good management and organization practices.

Salary: Annual salary will be commensurate with experience and education.

Position: Bilingual Residential Shelter Advocate

Objective:

  • Ensure Smooth operation of shelter for battered women and their children during assigned shift.

Description:

  • Assist with the management and operation of the shelter during shift
  • Provide crisis intervention to resident clients and children as needed.
  • Responsible for answering Hotline calls during shift.
  • Conduct screening women for intake into shelter.
  • Provide safety planning and information and referral to assist residential clients to achieve their identified goals.
  • Oversee activities of resident clients and children during shift.
  • Provide referrals for resident clients and children for services with the agency as well as other community resources.
  • Responsible for handling emergency situations at the shelter following guidelines set for in agency Policy and Procedures manual.
  • Perform other work duties as requested.

Knowledge and Skills:

Position: Clinical Services Coordinator

Objective:

To provide leadership to a team of licensed counselors. Provide individual, group, and family therapy to adult and child victims of family violence and sexual assault.

Job Description:

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the counseling team
  • Provide therapeutic counseling to victims of family violence and sexual assault.
  • Provide individual, family and group therapy, and facilitate classes.
  • Provide parenting and interventions with parent and child/children as requested.
  • Provide crisis intervention services for walk-in clients and residents of shelter as needed.
  • Provide timely follow-up and information/referral services.
  • Ensure adherence to state regulations and confidentiality requirements.
  • Maintain daily progress notes and required documentation for each client.
  • Enter documentation of services daily through the Osnium database.
  • Provide Counseling Graduate student interns with supervision.
  • Required on-call rotation for hospital emergency room as scheduled.
  • Present family violence counseling services for volunteer training as scheduled.
  • Assist with public education as requested.
  • Attend or complete professional trainings as required.
  • And other duties as assigned.

Supervision:

The Clinical Services Coordinator is a full-time position and will report to the Director of Residential and Non-Residential Services. The Clinical Services Coordinator is responsible for supervising licensed counselors, graduate student interns, and volunteers.

Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a minimum of a Master’s Degree in Counseling/Psychology.
  • LPC License is required.
  • Supervision license preferred.
  • Bilingual English – Spanish preferred.
  • Will use therapeutic counseling based on evidence-based trauma-informed interventions and research-based treatments for trauma such as EMDR, Play & Art Therapy, Somatic Experiencing, or DBT.
  • Knowledge of good management and organization practices.
  • Skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Ability and willingness to work within a team-based culture with a focus on individual development and organizational growth.

Position: Residential Services Coordinator

Objective:

To provide direction, supervision, and overall coordination of shelter operations, staff, volunteers, and residents.

General Description: 

  • Provide performance and operation oversight of shelter living.
  • Ensure services offered at Shelter are in compliance with East Texas Crisis
  • Center Policy and Procedures Manual, and the Family Violence Handbook by the Department of Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC).
  • Ensure all requirements relating to contracts are fulfilled.
  • Direct supervision of the Shelter/Residential Advocates.
  • Direct all meetings for Shelter staff.
  • Supervise training of new employees, volunteers, and interns.
  • Assist in crisis counseling with residents, as needed. Coordinate on-going counseling needs through Client Services.
  • Assist with grant writing and reporting, as requested.
  • The Residential Services Coordinator will have daily contact with shelter residents.
  • Conduct a weekly house-meetings with residents to ensure that their needs are met.
  • Oversee and implement grant funds for Shelter Living.
  • Attend all required supervisor meetings.
  • Preparation of statistical reports for Administration, tracking shelter statistics for grant writing, development of spreadsheet reports and/or database programs as required.
  • Maintenance of resident statistics database.
  • Attend all required training as approved by Executive Director.
  • Flexible schedule.
  • On call for emergency shelter.
  • Coordinate purchase of all supplies needed for the maintenance of the programs in the shelter.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Attend relevant professional training as required.

Supervision:

The Residential Services Coordinator is a full-time position and is supervised by the Director of Resident and Non-Resident Services.

Qualifications and Requirements: 

A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field is preferred or two years of experience working with victims of family violence, residential living, or related work experience.

Supervision and management experience is preferred.

Training Requirements:

RESIDENTIAL SERVICES COORDINATOR will complete the next Volunteer Training.

Position: Residential Services Coordinator

Objective:

To provide crisis intervention and advocacy services to victims of sexual assault and family violence.

General Description:

  • Provide on-call hospital accompaniment and advocacy services at local hospital emergency rooms.
  • Answer the 24-hour hotline.
  • Perform emergency shelter screenings & intakes.
  • Provide crisis intervention and advocacy services for victims of sexual assault and family violence.
  • Assist with risk assessment and safety planning with clients.
  • Provide timely follow-up and information/referral services.
  • Complete necessary client documentation, maintain current progress notes, document services on Osnium Tracking System and on all required forms.
  • Attend weekly administrative/client staff meetings and or assist in monthly grant reporting.
  • Assist Sexual Assault Counselors with administrative duties.
  • Participate with Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) for all counties.
  • Assist with other duties as requested.

Supervision:

The On-Call Response Advocate is a full-time position
(40 hours per week) and is supervised by the Director of Residential and Non-Residential Services.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Degree or near completion of degree in psychology, counseling, social work or other related studies. Work experience in social services may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree.

Must have reliable transportation.

Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Training Requirements:

On-Call Response Advocate will complete Staff/Volunteer Training.
