The East Texas Crisis Center was awarded a grant from TransCanada for the Children’s Prevention & Education Program. This is the fourth grant that TransCanada has funded the Center for the program.
The Children’s Prevention and Education Program’s goal is to make a positive contribution to the development and social enrichment of children, ages 3 to 17, living in the emergency shelter through the use of intervention, physical, educational and social activities. Placing special emphasis that Early Intervention is the key to breaking the cycle of violence; EDUCATION is the means to promote long lasting change.
“TransCanada supports organization and initiatives that bring communities together, develop leadership and engage citizens. Giving back to the communities where we operate is part of our everyday culture and has been for over 65 years. It’s all part of being an employer of choice, a good neighbor and a trusted community partner”.
TransCanada representatives, Ashtyn and Ryan (not in picture) came to the Center to present a $3,000.00 check.
