Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting at ETCC Outreach Office – Wood County

On Thursday, June 19, 2014 The Winnsboro Area Chamber of Commerce hosted the Grand Opening and Ribbon cutting of our new East Texas Crisis Center Wood Co. Outreach office. Carolyn Rogers, Chamber Administrator said that our open house “was one of the best ones yet”.

Some who were in attendance include:  Winnsboro Chamber of Commerce Administrator and Board of Directors, Winnsboro Economic Development Corp. Executive Director Chana Gail Willis, City Manager Nina Browning, Main Street Program Manager Denise Miranda, Winnsboro Community Resource Center (WCRC) Executive Director Art Walden, Church of Christ Preacher and WCRC Board member Gerald Elliot and wife/ business owner Lowe Ann Elliot, Greater Northeast Texas Community in Action Program Sheila Dutton, Former Wood County DA Mark Taylor, Wood Co.  Crime Victims Assistant Coordinator Robin Sherwood and ETCC‘s own Rains/Van Zandt Co. Legal/Advocate Carla Gandy assisted in preparations and hosting our guests.

Special Thanks goes to Winnsboro Brookshire’s for the wonderful refreshment party trays!

There has been a tremendous sense of welcome, willingness to aid and cooperation from the Winnsboro community.   An outpour of support is also being recognized from numerous community leaders, organizations and local citizens throughout all of Wood County.

The Wood County Outreach office is located in Winnsboro TX., at 218 N. Franklin Street in downtown Winnsboro. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and other victims of crime include: Crisis Intervention,  Safety Planning,  Support Groups,  Peer Counseling,  Shelter,  Women’s Economic Program,   Community Resources & Information,  Financial Assistance,  Legal Advocacy.

The East Texas Crisis Center HEART (help end abusive relationship tendencies) Support Group in Winnsboro is held every Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
