Emergency Response Advocate

The East Texas Crisis Center seeks a passionate individual to provide critical advocacy for survivors.
This position is part-time. Monday and Tuesday, 8:00 p.m. – 4:00 a.m.

Objective:
To provide crisis intervention and advocacy services to victims of sexual assault and family violence in Smith, Henderson, Wood, Van Zandt, and Rains Counties.

General Description:
Provide on-call hospital accompaniment and advocacy services at local hospital emergency rooms (SA 13%) (FV 15%).
Provide emergency safe lodging referrals (SA 2%) (FV 3%).
Provide crisis intervention and advocacy services for victims of sexual assault and family violence (SA 6%) (FV 6%).
Assist with risk assessment and safety planning with clients (SA 3%) (FV 4%).
Provide timely follow-up and information/referral services (SA 7%) (FV 7%).
Complete necessary client documentation, maintain current progress notes, document services on Osnium Tracking System and on all required forms (SA 6%) (FV 5%).
Attend weekly administrative/client staff meetings
Assist Sexual Assault Counselors with administrative duties (SA 1%)
Answer the 24-hour hotline (SA 7%) (FV 8%).
Assist with other duties as requested (SA 3%) (FV 2%).

Supervision:
The Emergency Response Advocate is supervised by the Sr. Director of Programs.

Qualifications and Requirements:
Degree or near completion of degree in psychology, counseling, social work or other related studies.
Work experience in social services may be substituted for Bachelor’s degree.
Must have reliable transportation.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.

Training Requirements:
Emergency Response Advocate II will complete Staff/Volunteer Training.
